BELKYRA™

Known as KYBELLA™ in the United States, BELKYRA™ is authorized by Health Canada to contour submental fat (the severe fullness or convex shape that can appear under the chin). The key to the success of BELKYRA™ is deoxycholic acid—a substance that occurs naturally within our bodies and can effectively break down excess fat cells. BELKYRA™ Procedure

To begin the BELKYRA™ procedure, a member of our team will first prepare the treatment area with a topical numbing agent to help ensure your comfort. Then the BELKYRA™ injections will be performed using a very fine needle. Each BELKYRA™ treatment takes place right in our office, and treatment sessions typically take 15-20 minutes to complete. Depending upon the severity of your condition, we may recommend a series of two to four treatment sessions to attain optimal results.

BELKYRA™ Recovery

The downtime from BELKYRA™ injections is typically very minimal. Some patients may experience temporary bruising, swelling, or numbness at the injection site immediately following the procedure. In the following weeks, as the BELKYRA™ begins to target the excess fat around the chin, you can begin to notice a more contoured and defined profile emerge. Over time, your body’s natural metabolic process will remove the targeted fat cells from your system, and you can enjoy a more sculpted, toned, and stronger-looking chin.
