Crisalix 3D Imaging
Our team at The Ottawa Clinic utilizes the innovative Crisalix imaging technology to aid in the consultation and planning process for plastic surgery procedures. The 3D and 4D imaging capabilities allow our plastic surgeons to better tailor procedures according to each patient’s unique goals. This is possible by taking pictures of the area undergoing cosmetic enhancement, and digitally altering the photos to create the projected results. By offering patients the ability to see their potential surgical outcome through 3D images or a 4D virtual reality view, they can form more realistic expectations for their procedure, as well as communicate any desired changes to their surgeon.
How Does Crisalix Work?
During the initial consultation process, your plastic surgeon will take scans or photographs of the body area you are hoping to enhance—such as your face, breasts, or abdomen. These images will then be uploaded to the secure Crisalix website, which is encrypted to ensure the utmost privacy.
Once your images are stored within Crisalix, your surgeon is able to digitally modify them to produce the anticipated outcome from your procedure(s) of interest. You can then view these 3D simulations, or you can virtually “try on” your results through the system’s 4D virtual reality feature. Clothing can be added over your image, as well, to show what you may look like before and after a procedure like breast augmentation or tummy tuck surgery.
Following your appointment, your surgeon will send you an invite to your personal Crisalix account, allowing you to log in at home to view your simulated results. This makes it possible to think about your projected outcome to determine whether you would like any changes made, as well as share your new look with friends and family.
