NanoLaserPeel®

If you’re looking to refresh your complexion but are worried about taking time off from your busy life, the NanoLaserPeel offers a solution that fits seamlessly into your schedule. Often called the “weekend peel” or “lunchtime laser,” this gentle yet effective treatment delivers noticeable results without the extended downtime associated with traditional resurfacing procedures.
What Is a NanoLaserPeel?
The NanoLaserPeel is an advanced erbium laser treatment that precisely removes the topmost layer of your skin. Using carefully controlled laser energy, it eliminates the dull, damaged skin cells that accumulate on the surface and contribute to an aged or tired appearance.
Unlike chemical peels that rely on acids to remove damaged skin, the NanoLaserPeel uses precision laser technology to achieve consistent and predictable results. It can be customized to target the exact depth needed for your unique skin concerns, removing less than 10 microns of the outer layer (stratum corneum) with remarkable accuracy.
As the laser removes this superficial layer, it simultaneously triggers your body’s natural healing response. This stimulates collagen production for long-term improvements in skin texture and firmness. The result is a smoother, brighter appearance that looks naturally refreshed rather than obviously “treated.”
What Does a NanoLaserPeel Treat?
The NanoLaserPeel addresses a variety of surface-level concerns. It is particularly effective for:
- Dull, lackluster skin
- Rough or uneven texture
- Fine lines and mild wrinkles
- Sun damage and age spots
- Enlarged pores
- Minor acne scars
- Uneven pigmentation
- Loss of radiance
The NanoLaserPeel is a light resurfacing treatment that excels at polishing away minor imperfections, designed for the early signs of aging rather than significant correction. If you have advanced wrinkles or sun damage, you may benefit from a more intensive treatment like HALO or deep erbium resurfacing. However, many of our patients find that the NanoLaserPeel is exactly what they need to maintain their skin between treatments or to address concerns before they become more pronounced.
Am I a Candidate for NanoLaserPeel?
The NanoLaserPeel is ideal for almost anyone seeking to improve their skin’s appearance without committing to extensive downtime. You might be an excellent candidate if you’re looking to maintain youthful skin, address early signs of aging or simply restore your natural glow.
While the NanoLaserPeel can be performed on various skin types, individuals with darker complexions may need special consideration. During your consultation, our experienced team will evaluate your skin and determine whether this treatment is appropriate for you or if an alternative would better serve your goals.
If you’re considering this treatment, it’s also important to have realistic expectations. The NanoLaserPeel is not a replacement for more aggressive treatments or surgical procedures. What it does exceptionally well is provide subtle, natural-looking results with minimal disruption to your life. We encourage you to review before and after photos and ask questions during your consultation to understand what a NanoLaserPeel can realistically achieve. When your expectations align with the treatment’s capabilities, you’ll be thrilled with the outcome.
How to Prepare for Your NanoLaserPeel
Preparing for your NanoLaserPeel is relatively straightforward. In the two weeks leading up to your appointment, protect your skin from excessive sun exposure. Tanned or sunburned skin cannot be safely treated, so avoid tanning beds, prolonged sun exposure and self-tanning products. If you spend time outdoors, apply broad-spectrum sunscreen consistently.
For about one week before your treatment, discontinue the use of retinoids, alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) or other aggressive topical treatments. These products can make your skin more sensitive and may affect the healing process. If you’re unsure about any of your skincare products, bring them to your consultation and we’ll review them together.
On the day of your appointment, arrive with a clean face, free from makeup, oils and moisturizers. This allows the laser to work most effectively for optimal results.
What to Expect From NanoLaserPeel Recovery
One of the greatest advantages of the NanoLaserPeel is the minimal downtime involved. Most patients experience what feels like a mild sunburn immediately after treatment. Your skin may appear red and feel slightly warm or tight, but these sensations typically last only a few hours.
Over the next two to three days, the treated skin will naturally exfoliate, revealing the fresh, healthy layer beneath. Any peeling is usually subtle and can often be managed with a gentle moisturizer and proper sun protection. For the best results, do not pick or rub at peeling or flaking skin and let it slough off naturally. This also reduces the risk of infection or scarring.
Most patients can return to work and normal activities within one to three days. By the end of the first week, the healing process will be complete, and you’ll begin to see the full impact of your treatment: skin that appears noticeably brighter, smoother and more refined.
Can I Combine NanoLaserPeel With Other Treatments?
The NanoLaserPeel works beautifully on its own, but it can also be incorporated into a comprehensive skincare regimen or combined with other treatments for enhanced results. Many patients benefit from pairing the NanoLaserPeel with BBL therapy to address texture and pigmentation concerns simultaneously. Others find that alternating between a NanoLaserPeel and deeper procedures like HALO allows them to maintain excellent skin health year-round.
During your consultation, we’ll discuss your aesthetic goals and determine whether a combination approach would benefit you. At The Ottawa Clinic, we take the trust our patients put in us seriously, so we only recommend treatments or products that align with your needs and will genuinely help you achieve your desired results.
FAQs
Does NanoLaserPeel Hurt?
NanoLaserPeel is generally very tolerable. Most patients describe the sensation as a series of quick, warm pulses across the skin. While some discomfort is possible, it’s typically mild and brief. Many people don’t require any numbing cream, though we can apply one if you prefer. Our team monitors your comfort throughout the procedure and can adjust the treatment as needed.
How Long Does a NanoLaserPeel Take?
Most NanoLaserPeel sessions take between 10 and 30 minutes to complete, depending on the size of the treatment area. This quick treatment time is why it’s often called a “lunchtime laser.” You can easily fit it into a lunch break or between other commitments.
How Long Until I Notice Results?
You’ll begin to see improvements within three to seven days after your treatment as your skin completes the initial healing process. However, results continue to develop over the following weeks as collagen production increases and your skin continues to renew itself. Many patients notice their skin looks progressively better for up to a month after treatment.
How Long Will My Results Last?
The longevity of your results depends on several factors, including your concerns, skin type, lifestyle and sun exposure habits. Many patients maintain their results with treatments every six to eight weeks as part of an ongoing maintenance program. For others, the improvements from one to three initial treatments can last several months before a touch-up is needed.
