A Hundred-Pound Weight Loss Leads to Breast Augmentation Surgery for Ottawa Woman
Thirty-six year old Ottawa resident Stephanie Pearson spent years considering a breast augmentation to improve the shape and size of her breasts. During a consultation with the doctor, Stephanie ‘tried on’ different breast sizes by placing the implants in a bra with the help of a nurse. “I tried different sizes and checked myself out in the mirror wearing a tank top. Dr. Nodwell offered advice on what size was best for my body,” she says.
On a cold January morning, Stephanie underwent surgery at the Queensway Carleton Hospital. By 1:30 p.m. the same day, she left for home to recuperate, two-bra sizes larger.
“Stephanie opted for silicone implants. Silicone’s longevity and resistance to rippling make it an ideal material for the procedure,” Dr. Nodwell says. “The implants were placed in the subpectoral pocket, or under the muscle, to create a natural teardrop shape.”
Stephanie returned to her job at a local not-for-profit one week after the breast augmentation. Her friends and family were supportive from the start, understanding her desire to do something for herself after all these years.
“I felt great after. I’m still recovering, but the pain wasn’t too bad,” Stephanie says with a smile. “Dr. Nodwell and his team were wonderful to me. I’m more confident – I’ve got some nice boobs now!”
